    Who we are

    Two students. No call centre.

    We film the homes ourselves and answer your email ourselves. If you are renting from abroad, “are you real?” is a fair question. Email us and a person replies within two working days.

    What students ask us

    What does Mello cost me?

    Nothing. The landlord pays us, once, after the contract is signed.

    Is a video really enough to rent a place?

    It shows more than most viewings: every room in one take, the water pressure, the meters and the walk to the tram. If we missed something, ask and we will film it.

    Who do I pay rent and deposit to?

    Straight to the landlord. Mello never holds money. If anyone asks you to pay Mello, it is not Mello.

    What if the home does not match the video?

    Tell us within 48 hours of moving in. We then send the landlord no invoice and take the listing down.

    Do I need to speak Dutch?

    No. Everything can be done in English. Your contract is often in Dutch, so ask us to talk you through it before you sign.
